Imam Ghazali said:
Patience comes in three stages:
first, one learns not to follow the baser self;
second, one learns to content oneself with one's fate;
finally, one surrenders oneself to the Master's will
and discovers within love and compassion, the greatest of all achievements.

An Advice For You
I found this advice of Imam Al-Hadad, in his book (the Book of Assisance). And I dedicate this posting for you….
Beware, O brother, of doing in secret that which if seen by
people would make you ashamed and worried about being censured.
If you cannot make your inward better than your outward, the least that you can do is
to make them equal, so that you behave equally well privately and publicly in
obeying God's injunctions, avoiding His prohibitions, respecting what He has
made sacred, and hastening to please Him.
This is the first step a servant takes on the path of special knowledge…….

Ihsan
If you find emerging in your heart, when you call to mind the
fact that God observes you, a shyness that prevents you from disobeying Him and
drives you to exert yourself in obeying Him, you are in possession of something
of the realities of vigilance (muraqaba). Know that vigilance is
one of the most noble stations, high positions, and lofty degrees. It is
the station of excellence (ihsan).
